Brutus Monroe x Karen Burniston Finale

Brutus Monroe x Karen Burniston Finale

Hi crafting friends,

We are finishing up an exciting week of designs with our friends at KarenBurniston.com.  We have enjoyed seeing what her design team came up with using Brutus Monroe products and sharing our designs using Karen's great pop-up dies. We hope you all got a chance to explore Karen's site and are inspired to try out some of her creative products.

This card was made using the Karen Burniston Castle Pop-Up die. (It is one of my personal favorites). The castle is a cut and emboss die. Instead of embossing, the die was used as a stencil; and texture paste was added to the die cuts to give the castle a realistic stone look. Next Brutus Monroe Mixed Elements Sterling Spray was added to color the texture paste.

Using the Simple Blends Square, the sky was created. Some die cut clouds from the castle set were added. The castle was built in front of the blended background. Green twine was wrapped around the card layer below the castle to create a sense of ground.  The castle door was cut out of wood grain paper and black metal brads were used to add detail. The castle was layered using foam tape.

The small dragon is really not so small.  He is a Brutus Monroe dragon/monster from the Little Monster stamp set. He was stamped onto Brutus Monroe Premium Shrink Film and colored with Style File markers. Next the dragon was shrunk with a heat tool and adhered to the card front. Finally, the sentiment was stamped in detail ink below the scene.

We would like to thank Karen and her team for an outstanding week of fun and creativity.

Enjoy
