Bonjour! - Spinner Square Pop-up

Bonjour! - Spinner Square Pop-up

Hi everyone! It is Verity here again from Pretty Little Buttonso good to be back up on the blog again. I hope you have been enjoying all the fabulous inspiration from the design team on how to use the Karen Burniston with Brutus Monroe products. We have certainly been enjoying it. Today I used one of my most favourite stamp set from Brutus Monore along with some beautiful inks to use with the Spinner Square Pop-up Die from Karen Burniston. This card is a great card to sen as an encouragement card due to the hidden pop-up sentiment inside.

Bonjour! - Spinner Square Pop-up card details:

To start, die from the square window using the largest die from the Pop-up die set. Make sure that you leave enough space down the left side of your card, for the pop-up mechanism to hide out of the window. Next, die cut 3 squares out of the colour cardstock of your choosing. I went for a lovely white grey and speckled egg colour scheme, so I cut 2 from Alabaster cardstock, and one from grey.

One a sperate piece of card, stamp images of your choosing, I went for the Eiffel Tower and Champs Elyse from the From Paris with Love stamp set. These were stamped in Gargoyle Surface Ink. I added some shading and definition to the images with a watercolour brush and adding a small amount of ink for shading. These were fussy cut-out. Before foam mounting onto an Alabaster die cut square, I ink blended Speckled Egg surface ink onto the middle to lift the stamps out from the white background.
To carry the colour scheme through the card, I added a layered die-cut sentiment from my stash in grey matted with some corresponding patterned paper and card. In addition, I blended more Speckled Egg ink to life the sentiment and adhered the sentiment with Craft Glue.

Using the pop-up die mechanism die, cut out the mechanism in Alabaster cardstock. For scoring and assembly of the pop-up Karen Burniston has some amazing videos on her site in how to use these. I would advise you to practice on a spare piece of cardstock until you are happy with it, so you don't ruin any of your work if you don't get it first time. The link for this Pop-up die can be found HERE. Once the pop-up is assembled successfully, adhere your square panel onto the pop-up. The best way to do this is to close the card and adhere down through the window. This way you know it has lined up correctly with your window.

To decorate the inside, you can add a hidden message which pops out with the spinner arm behind the panel. The small rectangle die in the set can be adhered to the arm, or you could use a large piece. You just need to make sure it won't pop out the top of your card when it is closed. I choose to add the speech bubble as well and used a sentiment from the True Love - Luggage stamp set. In addition, I added a few more stamps in Gargoyle ink and foam mounted for depth.

To add decoration inside, I stamped a couple more images from the stamp set using Sidewalk Surface Ink in one corner. To finish the front of the card off, I added a selection of sequins including Glass Slipper Bottle Cap Sequins, using Craft Glue.
