Birthday Bears with Ricky!

Hi everyone,

This is Ricky, and I am back once again with another card for Brutus Monroe. I hope you have had a fabulous week!

This week’s card was made using the Birthday Bear Stamp Set.

I first took a piece of Canson watercolor paper that was cute at 4 ¼ x 5 ½. I took Distress Oxide Inks Salty Ocean and Blue Print Sketch and rubbed them down on my glass mat.  I sprayed some water on the inks and then pushed my paper down on to it. I believe most people call this “ink smooshing.”  I played around with it a bit until I was happy with the colors.

I set that aside to dry and started to color the birthday bear.  To color the bear, I used Copic markers E35, E37, and E39.

For the balloons, I used R35, R37, R39, B26, B28, B29, YG05, YG06, YG 07, and finally V05, V06, V09.

I placed the bear in my Scan N Cut to cut him out. I also used a sentiment from the stamp set as well.

I then took the dried watercolor paper and used a die cut to cut it at 3 ½ x 5 ¾. I then cut a piece of Berrylicious paper my MFT at 5 1/8 by 3 7/8.  I made card base out of Neenah Solar White 110 lb card stock, folded it in half to make a 4 ¼ by 5 ½ card base.

I glued the watercolor paper to the Berrylicious paper and then glued those two to the card base.  I then took some 3M foam tape and popped the bear and the balloons up on the card.
