Birds of a Feather with Cassie!

Birds of a Feather with Cassie!

Hello again!  It's Cassie, and I'm back with another card as a Guest Designer for May!  Once again, I'm super excited to be on the blog sharing another creating using some more fabulous stamps from Brutus Monroe.  This time I'm using the Brutus Monroe Feathered Sentiments stamp set.  I love all of the intricate detail of this set and the sentiments are absolutely beautiful.

To make my card I started out with a piece of Canson XL watercolor paper, and I began by smooshing some Distress Inks in the colors Weathered Wood, Hickory Smoke, and Milled Lavender onto my craft mat.  I spritzed those with water and then began smooshing my watercolor paper into that.  I did that several times, and in between each time I made sure to heat my paper until it was dry so that I could create some fun watercolor effects.  I then stamped all of the feathers in the set onto my panel using Versafine Onyx Black ink, and then fussy cut those out.

I created a turquoise panel in the same fashion using Distress Inks in the colors Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet.  When I was happy with that panel I stamped one feather onto it and fussy cut that out.

My sentiment was stamped onto a die cut circle panel using that same Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I then covered that with Brutus Monroe Raven Sparkle embossing powder, which is my new favorite embossing powder, and then I heated that until it was smooth and melted.  That embossing powder is so gorgeous!

I adhered all of my pigeon feathers onto a white card panel using some foam tape, and then added y sentiment circle using more foam tape.  My card base is some turquoise cardstock. For a final bit of embellishment I added some Nuvo Dream Drops int eh color Indigo Eclipse, and this card is finished.

I hope you enjoyed my creations this month, because I sure enjoyed making them for you all.  If you'd like to see more of my work, head on over to my YouTube Channel.  I keep pretty busy over there :)
