Birds of a Feather Inspiration

Hey friends!

It's Jess and I'm back with another card for you today. I wanted to share some inspiration to keep you going on this month's Inspiration Box, Birds of a Feather. If you haven't heard about the Inspiration Box before, it's a monthly subscription service where you receive a box jam packed with goodies each month. Each box fits a different theme and all of the includes supplies coordinate with that theme to make building your own projects a breeze. Even better, if you subscribe - you're guaranteed to receive your box each month without worrying about it selling out and you also receive an exclusive 15% discount of your everyday purchases with Brutus Monroe. How cool is that!? For more info, check out the FAQ here.

Alright, let's get into this card! To start things off, I grabbed some alabaster cardstock and my Mini MISTI. I used the beautiful feather stamps from Birds of a Feather to stamp along the top of my card front in Raven Detail Ink. I shifted my cardstock over a little and stamped again with a light grey ink. I turned my paper around 180 degrees and repeated this same process so I would have the same pattern on the top and bottom.

I also stamped the sentiment, 'Birds of a feather,' in embossing ink. I heat set this with Gilded Embossing Powder and my heat tool. It's so gorgeous how the gold shines!

Next, I colored the feathers stamped in black with Copic markers. I used soft, but vibrant, colors for a pretty bohemian feel. I also used a few Tombow markers to get some droplets of color in the center area of my card front. I did this by scribbling the markers on my media mat, spritzing with water, and then using the Tim Holtz Splatter Brush to flick on the color.

I added some pretty blue-green jute twine to my card - I wrapped it around a few times and used the Craft Glue to secure it. I also tied a cute little bow and adhered that with Craft Glue as well. White I was tying on my twine, I added the adorable peacock charm from the Inspiration Box. I love how that gives the card a little extra excitement. To finish off the card, I added a few of the included Rhinestone Crystals. These have adhesive backs, so they're a breeze to add to your card. I mounted my card base with foam tape on to the gorgeous cardstock included in the kit.

That finishes off my card for today! Let me know what you think in the comments section. Have you started making anything with your Birds of a Feather box yet? We'd love to see what you create, so be sure to tag us on social media with #brutusmonroe and #createyourownending.

Hugs and love to you all,
