Baby Shower String Lights Cards

Baby Shower String Lights Cards

Hello crafty friends! Lauren here, sharing this baby shower card made with the new String Lights stamp set! It would also be good for a card for a newborn or for a first birthday.

I started by heat embossing several rows of string lights onto Aqua Pugment paper, using Alabaster embossing powder. I taped the panel down onto a hardboard surface with purple tape, since I was planning to saturate the paper with water and aqua pigment. Using blue aqua pigment, I first wet the paper with clear water and then did a light wash of color. I dried it using a heat tool and then slowly built up layers of blue, darker at the bottom and fading lighter towards the top, drying with the heat tool in between washes.

I used my MISIT to stamp the sentiment onto Alabaster cardstock with Cornflower surface ink, and then stamped over it again with embossing ink, and used Pearl embossing powder over it to mute the color and give it a shimmer. After backing it with foam tape, I used hot glue to adhered a strip of lace along the bottom, and stuck it to the card. I die cut the letters for “little one” out of white craft foam and glued it underneath the sentiment rectangle to finish it off.

Have you tried any of the new release stamps yet? There are some super cool new sets! Share your projects on social media, and be sure to use the hashtags #BrutusMonroe and #CreateYourOwnEnding so we can see what you make! Have a great weekend.
