Aqua Birthday

Hello friends,

Today's card is a beautiful birthday wish for a special someone in your life. I am using the wonderful Brutus Monroe Aqua Pigment Inks to create this colorful background along with the new Catching Dreams Stamp set to make that special person a birthday card. All these items can be found on the Brutus Monroe Store site.

I started with the aqua pigment paper cut to A-2 layer one card size. (4"x5 1/4")  Next I spritz a bit of water on the paper and add the aqua pigments using a piece of plastic to help move the aqua pigments around the paper (often referred to as smooshing) or a water brush could be used to get the same effect. I added aqua pigments until I was happy with the coverage and color variations. Using a heat gun I hastened the drying of the pigment. I then stamped the feathers from the Catching Dreams set using embossing ink all over the background. I embossed the feathers with Brutus Monroe Guilded embossing powder. 

Next, I cut a strip of vellum and stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set with embossing ink and embossed with the hot pink embossing powder I got from the fun Embossing Bar at the Pittsburgh Brutus Monroe store. (What a fun trip that was!!)

Finally, I added some acrylic bubbles and a metal butterfly and secured the layer to a matching card base. Added a happy birthday sentiment to the inside and have a colorful and fun birthday card to share with a friend.
