A Penny for Your Thoughts

A Penny for Your Thoughts

I don't know about you, but I can't get enough of the Penny Aqua Pigment and the Penny Embossing powder.  The color is just so unique.  I decided to make a card using these products here's how!
First, I took a piece of Lunch Bag Cardstock and stamped the large mum from the Fall Florals set all over using Clear Embossing Ink.  (I essentially made my own patterned paper!) I covered the panel with the Penny embossing powder and heat set.  Next, I trimmed a rectangle from the center and popped it up with Foam Tape.
Now for the focal image.  Using the mum again, I stamped and heat embossed with Raven Embossing Powder on Perfect Blend Cardstock. I planned on using Aqua Pigments to color my mum. Using embossing powder creates a "well" so you do not paint outside the lines.  I mixed red and blue Aqua Pigment to get the shade of purple I wanted.  I allowed the Aqua Pigment to dry between coats and reapplied so I could get a shaded effect.  The leaves are painted in the Penny Aqua Pigment.  A Conversation Clipping frames the flower.
I'd love to see what you do with the Penny Embossing Powder!  Tag me on Instagram @katedeignancards and be sure to follow @brutusmonroe for more ideas using this month's Inspiration Box!
