A Gatefold Butterfly Card
Hey crafty friends, it's Cassie here with another card to share! I started off by stamping out three butterflies from the Butterfly Sentiments stamp set using some Embossing Ink. I covered my butterflies with some Raven Sparkle Embossing powder. . .and for the record it's my favorite embossing powder of all time. . .ever! I colored them in and then fussy cut them out.
Next, I took some Not Your Mama's Heavy Weight Cardstock that I had cut down to 5 1/2" x 11", and scored that at 2 1/8" from each of the smaller sides. I folded those in and that gave me my gatefold. I coated the front of the card with a light sponging of some blue ink, and then placed the Lace Stencil over that, and sponged on more blue ink. I trimmed down some small strips of Tangerine Glitterstock and adhered those to the panels before putting some Foam Tape on the left hand side of the back of my butterflies. After I removed the release paper, I adhered my butterflies down to the card front.
I stamped my sentiment and trimmed it down to a small strip before adhering it to the front. And my final step was to stamp another butterfly on the inside along with the rest of the sentiment. I really love how this card came together, and I can see making lots more.
