A 40th Birthday Celebration
Happy Independence day friends! I thought it would be a perfect day to share how I brought this 12x12 layout of my 40th birthday celebration together. For my 40th Birthday my wonderful husband brought me to the Bronx Zoo in New York to meet some Fennec Foxes. I used the 2022 Birthday Celebration Box to celebrate this milestone birthday.
I started this layout using the stencil to make the background. I used inks from my stash (here, Distress Oxides) to create the layered effect with the stencil. I used three different colors that can be found in my layout (blue, yellow an tan) and blended them in a pattern around the layout. As you can see, when you blend blue and yellow together it makes green, which was perfect. After I finished, I let the ink dry overnight. While it was drying, I moved on to my next task.
While the ink was drying I stamped on separate paper the cake separates from the LET THERE BE CAKE (BRU0094) stamp found in the box.I stamped a few different images and colored them in with aqua pigments. I then fussy cut them out and placed them on the page in an Alice In Wonderland wonky fashion. The box does have the dies that you can use to cut them out also.
I finished the layout by using some of the birthday card sentiments found in the box. While these are traditionally used for cards, they make great fun sentiments to tell your story in a scrapbook layout. I love using them this way!
This was a really fun birthday and I am so happy that I was able to honor it using my personal favorite, Brutus Monroe!
