5 Cards 1 Kit October 2018 Brutus Monroe Inspiration Box
The kit came with pre-printed panels that are able to be foiled (I will show you that in card number 3), watercolored, or you can use alcohol markers. There were two of each design. I fell in love with this apple panel. I used Aqua Pigments, which are a liquid watercolor, in red, green, brown and Turquoise to watercolor the panel.
Once it had dried I die cut the sentiment using the Hello die. and Mocha glitterstock that was included in the kit, then adhered it on top of a ribbon from a previous Inspiration Box. The panel was added to a card base and that completes card number 1.
The box this month came packed with several leaf dies. I decided to use partial die cutting to create the edging of card number 2. First, I added three different colors of surface inks, Maple (which was included in the kit), Suede, and Macchiato to create a light ombre effect for the background. After the background was complete I put the four die cuts hanging off of the panel half way and ran them through the die cut machine. Next, I cut the same four dies using four pieces of cardstock included in the kit and fit them into the partial cut like a puzzle.
Card 3 is not a traditional card. The kit included adorable little invite notes and the cutest envelopes to match. I decided to stamp the "You're Invited" stamp from the set with Raven detail ink along with three leaves using the Maple surface ink on the envelope.
To create the pumpkins on the invitation I cut up a card panel that had several pumpkins similar to the apple panel. I added orange and gold foil using a laminator to adhere the foil. The first pumpkin I glued flat and the second was added with foam tape to give it some dimension. These little cards are so fun and will definitely get more use in the future.
For card 4 I used Gilded embossing powder along with a panel made from Aqua Pigments. The leaves were positioned in the Misti stamping tool to make sure I could get a good impression since I was stamping on watercolor paper. You could definitely use an acrylic block to stamp them out as well. Once I had stamped out the images using clear embossing ink I added the Golden Gourd embossing powder. This powder looks like pumpkin spice in the jar. It is so beautiful! I also used it to stamp the sentiment on the kraft labels that came with the kit.
To finish off the card. I added orange ribbon from the kit and tied a bow with a piece of brown from a previous kit. I love the simplicity and beauty of this embossed card.
I decided that I wanted to create a card for fall with non-traditional fall colors. To begin I stamped the sentiment Warm Hugs in Raven detail ink in the center of Cabbage cardstock. I cut the leaves using five of the dies included. Each was cut from Aubergine, Rouge and Sea cardstock.
Finally, I arranged and glued down the leaves leaving some raised and added Nuvo drops to the empty spaces.
That completes the five cards from one amazing Bountiful Harvest Inspiration Box. We love to see what you create with the inspiration box. Tag us on social media #createyourownending #brutusmonroe.
