Birthday Shaker Card

Good Morning B|M Fans!!! This card was not planned. I figured in the middle of making it I'd better snap a couple photos. I'm so glad I did it turned out so fun. The stamp I used was "Happy Birthday To You"!, the ballon animal is so fun to color. Coloring him I thought how fun would it be to cut him out an throw him in a shaker card.

I colored him using Spectrum Noir Markers DG2 and CG1, then I cut him out leaving a small white border. I wanted the sentiment on a different colored paper. I masked off the balloon animal with painters tape and just inked up the sentiment and stamped it onto green cardstock. I cut it into a flag and backed it with coordinating paper from the scraps I had making the card base.

This was the fun part. I cut a piece of that same green cardstock to fit the front of my card with a small border. Sorry, if you read my last post I am bad about getting dimensions. I do know it is a little larger than 3" because I used a 3" circle punch to make the shaker window. I adhered a small piece of transparency to cover the circle. I then put foam mounting squares on the corners and around the circle to hold in the sequin, glitter and balloon animal I colored and cut. Fun Tip: If you rub baby powder on the inside edges of the foam tape with a Q-tip, it prevents anything getting stuck. For this card I went a different route and added extra glitter, and it stuck to all the sticky parts. Not only did the glitter prevent the sequins from sticking it also covered the white tape you can sometimes see, and also adds shimmer.

To finish off the card I added a few sequins and the banner I made with the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed this card and got inspired, i loved making it and sharing it.

Have A Happy Crafty Day!!!!
