Spring is in the air! Walter made this fun flower and bottle vase card using the Bottled Blooms die set. For the bottle, he cut the card base from Not Your Momma’s Card Stock since it is strong enough to hold up the weight of the other elements. He placed the top of the bottle die just over the edge of the card base fold so that it would cut a mirrored base of the shape. He then cut out the same bottle shape from vellum, acetate, and burlap and assembled the layers.
The flowers and leaves were cut and colored with the Aqua Pigments. Once the assembled flowers and leaves were in place on the back of the bottle, Walter used double sided foam tape strips to attach the bottle & flowers to the card base.
Blue Saphire Gems were added to a dragon fly as eyes and attached to the burlap part of the bottle. Here’s a TIP for the flower stems - color some tooth picks with the Creamy Green Aqua Pigment and glue to the back of the stems for extra support!

Melissa made a fun shaker birthday card featuring the Birthday Bears stamp set. But first started with creating a background by painting stripes onto a piece of watercolor paper using Aqua Pigment in blue and then added some red to make purple. Then made a shaker pocket by first heat embossing the sentiment onto the acetate, then scoring 1/4" along each edge. Folding on those score lines and really burnishing those edges sealed the background paper inside and added some sequins before sealing up the final edge. She also heat embossed the stamped images onto watercolor paper and did some super easy water coloring. Aqua Pigments mix beautifully for other color shades. Created by Melissa @stampedbym

Next, Samanthat stamped and cut the image two more times. The uncolored images were folded in half for the "right" and "left" sides of the butterfly. The right colored image was glued to the "right" uncolored & folded images. This was repeated for the left side.
Two strips (width: 2-6/16", length: 5") of Be Mine paper were cut and scored as above. The strips were adhered to white card base and excesses were cut off. Each half the of the butterfly were attached to right and left "flaps." The back pattern paper panel was cut at 3-13/16 x 5-7/16 and adhered to the inside of her card. Lisa created a 6x6 Hinge card by following the directions she found online! WOW, what a fun card! She utilized the new Paperpad "Bemine" to decorate the base and all the flaps. Lisa colored all the images from the Dynamic Duo's and placed one image on the front, and 5 in the center. She added die cut hearts (from her stash to the top; and a white heart on the bottom so the card could be signed. This is the first "Hinge card" Lisa ever made and didn't she do a fabulous job!
Our second card comes from Candi VanDeWerf

Lisa Newman
Hello! My name is Lisa Newman, I live in Northwest Iowa. I am pleased to announce this is my second year as a member of Brutus Monroe Design Team. Many, many moons ago, I did A little scrapbooking and card making, however, at that time I had other interests.
When Covid reared, its ugly face, and we were pretty much homebound; I knew I had to find a hobby. It was then, I purchased a huge craft haul and that was the start of it. I started simply with stamping and a cheap set of markers. I created cards using pattern, paper, and die cuts. I came across the set of alcohol markers and did a little experimenting, and started to love the blends. Gradually, I transitioned to Copic markers. I started to get obsessed with all the cute stamps. Stamping and coloring brings so much joy to me and truly puts me in my happy place.

Hi, I'm Danielle Dunlop and I live with my husband Tanner and dog Blink on Saba, a 5 sq mile Dutch Caribbean island. We have a small restaurant that keeps us busy, but to keep my sanity I love to make cards. I have always been creative, and started scrapbooking in 2001, but since 2018 card making has been my main creative outlet. I’m thrilled to be on the Brutus Monroe team, the stamp designs and stencils are amazing and I love the different mixed media products! If I'm not creating, you can find me with our dog somewhere near the ocean. I lived my entire life close to the ocean and I can't imagine it being any other way.

As you’ve probably heard from many other crafters as well, I too started crafting with scrapbook projects, then ventured into a variety of categories such as mixed media arts, Tumbler cups, Cricut, T-shirt designs, sewing, spray painting art, and the list goes on. Some of my favorite Brutus Monroe products are the Aqua Pigments (OMG), stencils, and of course the stick and stamp mat. My craft room is also my spa room getaway room and frequently my secret spot to watch Golden Girls. Melissa
I’m Melissa and I live in Central Florida with my little Shih Tzu, Charlie. I’m a mom of 3 adult children; my oldest son is 28 and in the Navy, my daughter is 25 and lives in LA - she wanted an adventure and my youngest son is 24 and lives here in Florida near me. None have made me a grandmother yet but I’m anxiously waiting.
I have been papercrafting since my oldest was born, starting out scrapbooking. I discovered stamping when my daughter was born, having attended a DOTS (former name for Close to my Heart) stamp party. I was hooked! I became a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and did that for 10 years. But I discovered so many other companies and products that I left the SU! box and went wild!
I love making cards, art journal pages and my latest passion is making mini-albums. My favorite Brutus Monroe products are mainly tools! I love the blender brushes- they’re great for detail work and the handle is long enough that it doesn’t hurt my hand. The stamp sticky mat is a must in my toolbox. And I really love the foil transfer designs.
I’m in my craft room all the time, it doubles as my home office as I do work full time but lucky enough I get to work from home. In addition to paper craft I enjoy crochet, cross stitch, audiobooks and watching Hallmark movies.

Love You Very Mush (Tea Party Release)
Created by Gina Crotchfelt @sweetinkspiration_byginac
I love mushrooms! The Mushroom Garden set was one of my favorites to play with. There were so many possibilities. One of my favorite things about Brutus Monroe is all the different types of sprays and glazes. All those different products made this card really fun to create!
The Paper is from the Casual Christmas Paper pad and the Stamps and Dies are from Santa Visit. All of the images were stamped with Raven Detail ink on perfect Blend Paper and colored with Alcohol Markers (Tri-Blends or Olos). The Tree was also stamped the same way, but I used the coordinating stencil to inkblend with Simon Hurley Create. Overealous Ink.
After cutting everything out with the coordinating dies, I decorated my tree. The Pattern paper was matted on Scarlet cardstock and then adhered to an A2 Precut/PreScored Card base.
Here is a list of products from the Brutus Monore Store. Have a great rest of your week and get ready for New Years!
]]>I started by blending some light gray ink though the stencil on two pieces of the Perfect Blend Cardstock. I made sure to place the stencil in the same place on each piece, which will help us line them up later.
I chose one to be the background panel and used some of the Pink Passion Shimmer Splash to create some beautiful pink splatters on the background. It is so easy with this new product - the Shimmer Splash has a brush in the bottle, so I just tapped it with my finger and voila! perfect splatters
The next step is to color images in the area that we want to highlight. I used alcohol markers to color the images on the right side of the paper because that is where I want to put my highlighted piece.
Once I had enough of the area colored, I placed the two pieces together - one under the other. I taped those together and taped my A2 sized stitched rectangle die on top to cut through both at the same time, in the same place.
I chose a shaped die to cut out the part of the background that I want to highlight and cut through just the colored piece this time.
The next step is just assembling the card! I used foam tape to pop up the highlighted focal image and added a sentiment from the Extra Sentimental Stamp set. I used a banner die to cut the sentiment out as well as a piece of the patterned paper from the Pamper Parlor paper pad to add a little color behind the sentiment banner.
]]>
I stamped all of my images out on Perfect Blend paper with Raven Detail ink. I used used mostly Tri Blend Markers (and a couple of Olos) to color them in and the coordinating dies to cut them all.

I started by blending the Simon Hurley Create Crown Me Ink with the new Posh Stencil. I cut the panel to 4" x 5.25" and matted on a piece of yellow cardstock. For my focal image, I cut the Sign Me Up Dies from several scraps of Yellow and Purple Paper.
I stamped the Fabulous front the coordinating stamp set. After arrangeing the die cuts on the front of my card, I stamped the Happy Birthday from Super Sentimental with Raven Detail ink. Finally, I adhered my matted card front onto the Precut Prescored A2 Card base.

December Challenge has us feeling Festive: Show us how you celebrate the upcoming holidays, the end of the year or the New Year!
]]>I created these cards last night using a variety of products from the Traditional Trimmings kits.
I started by choosing a piece of paper from the 6 x 6 paper pad and cutting it in half. Then I used some Gold Chroma Glaze over the Star Scape stencil and let it dry overnight. Then I layered them on some Scarlet Cardstock (after I used an oval die from my stash to cut from the middle of the mat).
I stamped the St. Nicolas stamp in Embossing ink and heat set the Gilded Embossing powder over the top. For my sentiment, I stamped the Ho Ho Ho from the St. Nicolas set and covered it with the Noel Embossing powder. Then I adhered everything to a couple of the Precut Mini Slim Cardbases.
For my third card of the night. I chose a paper from the Merry Melody Card panels and stamped the Sheet Music stamp in three places and heat set the Gilded Embossing powder over it. Then I used some Key Lime Glitter Glaze and the Christmas Tree stencil in a couple of place. Once the panel was dry, I cut it down to 4" x 5.25" and layered it on some Jurassic Cardstock. For my sentiment I used a couple of stamps from the Flourishing Holiday stamp set with the same Gilded embossing powder. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and I popped up the circle with some foam tape.

Here is list of the products I used with links to the Brutus Monroe Store:
I started by cutting down a piece of 6 x 6 paper in half. (This paper is retired but you could use any of the BM Holiday paperpads I will link a few options below.)
I shaved a bit off each short end of the paper and layered it on a piece of Holly Cardstock. Before I adhered it, I cut the Holly Cardstock mat with the middle medallion from Easy Elements Dies set to use for my sentiment. It will be hidden by the pattern paper, so I save some cardstock this way.
For my sentiment, I looked through my stash for a thank you sentiment and I stamped it with Alabaster Pigment Ink and heat set the Alabaster Embossing powder over it. I used a few leaf dies from my stash with some scrap yellow paper for some interest.
To add some sparkle and bling, I adhered a few of the Button Galore Jewlez Mix (Halloween) with some liquid glue.
Products Used:
This A2 card came together quickly. I started by stamping the Sentiment in Embossing ink and heat set the New Polar Embossing Powder over it. For some texture, I softly ink blended several blue inks over the Polarized Stencil around the edges of my panel. After I matted it on a Sea Card base, I added a few of the Critters from the Artic Pals Stamp Set. These sweet animals were stamped on Perfect Blend Paper with Raven Detail ink and then colored in with Copic Markers.

]]>Here are a few projects from some of our Inspiration Team along with memories of favorite teachers.
I was blessed with many excellent teachers but one of my favorites was Mr. Waldron. He was my high school choir teacher. He would choose music that was both interesting and challenging. At my first audition to be in choir, I very nearly chickened out. He asked my GPA and I told him my report card was being held at the library due to an overdue book fine. I offered to go get it with the thought of just leaving altogether. He totally saw through that! He said “No, because you won’t come back”. Thank goodness he made me audition right then and there. As a choir member, he made me feel like I was essential to his altos. High school would not have been nearly as fun without Mr.Waldron and all of the fun I had in choir.
-Shannon Smith
Shannon used the Bookmark dies to create these little treat boxes. She used the School Rules paper pad for the boxes as well as the school supplies. She used the Set for School stamps and Dies for the sentiments.
My favorite teacher was the teacher I had in 4th grade, it was my dad! He made science fun and always had neat creatures and experiments to help us learn. Science is still my favorite subject!
-Jessica Vittek
Jessica created this cute card using the Notebook Paper stencil, Overdue stamp set and the Bookworm stamp set.
My favorite teacher has to be Mr. Antilla. He was my Biology/Zoology teacher. Though he pretended to be TOUGH, he was really a teddy bear. We didn't have a book as everything was written on the board for us to take notes and study from, including the diagrams. We would have to repeat after him and I can still hear him saying "label if your able..." He would use a wet sponge to erase the board and he would draw a heart with his and his wife's initials in them (she was an English teacher in our school). We would have candy parade where he would toss us hard candies but if you asked him for one, he would tell you it was his "heart medicine." And if you asked him why he was crabby he would say you're the crabby one, I'm lobstery. He was the best!
-Candi VanDerWerf
The All Set for School stamp set has everything you need to make the perfect card for your favorite teacher, whether it's for good luck or a thank you! Candi used the Brutus Monroe masking paper to help create her scene on some Perfect Blend Paper.
One of my favorite memories is that of my English teacher in Middle School - Bhupendra Sir as we used to address our teachers in India. Not only did he teach English, but he opened our eyes and ears to other aspects of learning like music and lyrics, journey of the language and its evolution through time and we looked forward to his classes often held outdoors in open air under the trees. His classes even included baseball at times!! One of those teachers that always took the time to help you explain a topic in depth if that's what you wanted or was always ready to research more or bring additional resources for you. Armed with his little notebook where all important to-do's were listed; he welcomed everyone with a smile. But if he ever caught you littering anywhere (including outside the school; boy oh boy - he had a nasty temper and would make you pick it up and put it right back in your pockets till you found a trash can! Needless to say he was not an easy teacher to forget.
-Sweta Changela
Sweta used the Typography stencil with Purple Static Foil Transfer sheets and Chroma Mist to create this eye-catching card.
One of my favorite memories is of my 10th grade Homeroom Teacher! She was the stunt swimmer for Jane in the old Tarzan movies that were made in the 30’s! Everyone knew, but she would not tell the stories about it until the last day of school! She grew up in Florida and apparently was a great swimmer. She looked almost exactly like the movie actress-Maureen O’Sullivan who played Jane! Johnny Weissmuller as Tarzan. These movies were often played on TV on Saturday afternoons, when I was a teenager, so we all thought that was pretty awesome!!!
-Mackie Robertson
Mackie created this card with the Brutus Monroe Personal Library Cutting Dies. She used pattern paper from the School Rules 6X6 Paper Collection to create the chalkboard. The sentiment was heat embossed with Alabaster Embossing powder, to look like it had been written in chalk. The sentiment is from the Birdhouses stamp set.
My favorite teacher would have to be my High School Forensics teacher Ms. Brown. She was so passionate about teaching and making sure that her students learned as much as they could. What made her a special teacher is that she didn’t just teach from a book, she actually would put together hands-on projects for us to learn by actually practicing what we were learning.
-Tyler Bright
Foil makes everything better! Tyler used Deco Foil duo gel to add the green sketch foil and then finished off the card by coloring up some of the images from the All Set For School stamp set.
