Here's an idea for a card with a floating WOW factor! And just think of
the possibilities: stars, balloons, hearts, trees!
For this card, you will need a set of shaped dies. I used circles, but you can really use any shape for your window.
I cut a circle in my card panel (cut to 4 x 5 1/4 inches) For this card I used tan cardstock stamped with a wood grain design. Then using the tan panel as a template, I cut a circle in my card base. *If your diecutting machine can cut through both layers at one time, feel free to do so. Mine did not, so I needed to cut in stages.* You need your shapes to line up to form a window.
Moving on to the "floater". Sandwich a piece of clear thread in between the 2 stamped and colored sunflowers from the Fall Florals set. Attach the thread to the top and bottom of your window, then cover up that glued thread with your front panel. Now your sunflower floats in your window!
Note: The "floater" can be one sided or you can make it double sided as I did here. Also, when sending it out, you can spin it a few times so that when the recipient opens the card, the sunflower spins!
Finally, I took 2 circle dies (the one I used for my window and the next size up) to make a frame to give my window a more finished look.
I'd love to see your take on my card. Follow me on Instagram @katedeignancards and be sure to follow @brutusmoroe for more inspiration.
